The Foxhole Comes to India?!

August 11, 2010

I apologize in advance that this post may only be relevant to a limited audience, but I just couldn’t resist sharing…

The Foxhole is an *ahem* Gentleman’s Club in rural central Ohio that has always had a bit of trouble with the local church community.  It also happens to be only a twenty-minute drive from Kenyon College, my alma mater.  Amongst Kenyon students, The Foxhole is well-known in jest and in rumor, though few students have actually visited the hole-in-the-wall strip joint themselves.  Outside of Kenyon, though, I had imagined that very, very few ever had or ever would know about this place.

Imagine my surprise, then, when I was thumbing through today’s The Times of India, and I came across this little blurb (sandwiched, of course, between a headline about a vacuum-using German cat and a half-naked Katy Perry):

It reads: Dancers from strip club protest at Ohio church: The owner of an Ohio strip club and some of his dancers have been protesting at a church that has done the same to them for four years.  Women in bikinis sat in camp chairs outside the New Beginnings Ministries church in Warsaw.

To confirm that the “Ohio strip club” mentioned was, in fact, the Ohio strip club that I was thinking of, I did some research.

Yup, it says it all right there.  It looks like The Foxhole has just gained international notoriety…
